Hannibal's house (and okay, maybe JUST A LITTLE Jono's), New Year's Eve

Hannibal's impulse was to have a huge party and plan an entire menu and drinks menu for it; any excuse. But after spending their vacation in the quiet (if cold) arctic circle, then continuing to relax as much as possible, Hannibal was disinclined to undo all of that work by insisting on a crowd for New Year's Eve.

So, a quiet evening in, with the cats and each other and a glass of very good champagne.

As the clock ticked closer to midnight, Hannibal stretched out on the couch and smiled at Jono. "Well?"

[OOC: For the one mentioned, but open, why not? I'm up for interrupted evenings.]

Jono was going to just smack his forehead with one hand, if it was all the same to Bob.

//I've given women a try too, mate. And I like them, their curves are lovely and I appreciate a nice pair of breasts as much as the next person, but that's not really what we're together for.//

Because neither of them had curves or breasts, obviously.

//Hell, I haven't really thought about the fact that we're both men in ages. Unless somebody else is bringing it to our attention, we're just... us. Seems to be working out well enough thus far.//

It didn't hurt, really, that sex, while enjoyable, was really sort of an afterthought in their relationship. Had been in most of Jono's relationships, actually. So it was less about the curves and the, 'erm...'

Bob looked pained. "Apart from that! Marriage is so...permanent." Honestly, Jono knew about Hannibal's habits, and still wanted to marry him?

Jono knew, yes. And Jono had made his opinion on the whole matter known. And, to the full extent of Jono's knowledge, Hannibal had respected that opinion. People still died. They just... deserved it more.

Or something.

//Nothing is permanent,// Jono replied, rolling his eyes. //Marriage is lasting, perhaps, but it only keeps until death do us part.//

And Jono... Jono seemed to have a funny way of not dying. He had a funny way of not dying a lot.

//Besides, nobody's asking you to marry him.// A beat. //Actually, I'd take exception to that.//

"Mm, definitely better you than me." Bob rolled his eyes. "Well, congratulations, I suppose."
furnaceface: (Awright)

//And thank you, I guess.// Jono gave a shrug of his shoulders. //Worried that we'll get more boring once we've put rings on one another's fingers, are you? Settle down, adopt a house full of children, get three more cats and a dog and never have wild parties again?//

If you expected Jono and Hannibal to stop being interesting, Bob, clearly you didn't know them all that well.

"Good lord, I should hope not!" Bob sounded appalled. "You're boring enough already."
furnaceface: (Baffled)

[personal profile] furnaceface 2016-01-01 08:11 pm (UTC)(link)
//I'm boring? Lord, what in the world even is your definition of boring, dare I ask? Do I not throw enough wild parties? Have enough wild, public sex? Maybe I need to end up in the tabloids again. I haven't done that in a while.//

Jono was actually kind of curious about the answer.
nuclear_snide: (WTF)

[personal profile] nuclear_snide 2016-01-01 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
"When have you had any wild, public sex?" Bob asked. "Don't tell me I missed it."

Jono put his nose up in the air.

//First time I tried it, I ended up blowing up the dance club,// he shot back. //Lessons learned.//
nuclear_snide: (disgusted)

Bob sighed. "You mean you used to be exciting, and you turned into boring."

//I can't help if I'm a fighter, not a lover,// Jono countered with a 'what can you do' shrug of his shoulders. //I did turn into the sort of boring who actually flipped through the pages of the last novel I picked up to make certain there are some decent sex scenes in there, though.//

Just for you, Bob. You ungrateful lech.
nuclear_snide: (you think so?)

[personal profile] nuclear_snide 2016-01-01 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Awww, Jono cared!

"Are there?" Bob perked up. "Wonderful!"
furnaceface: (Fire - Interesting Gutters)

[personal profile] furnaceface 2016-01-01 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
//And a busty woman on the cover that I'll have to hide when there are other customers in the shop,// Jonothon added, in a tone that would have been a sigh, if only. //Presumably to give somebody something to look at while the book is being read.//

Somebody. Jono wasn't saying who. But somebody.
nuclear_snide: (nudge nudge wink wink)

[personal profile] nuclear_snide 2016-01-01 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh, don't worry; I have an excellent imagination." Bob leered. "Glad to hear it, though."
furnaceface: (Awright)

[personal profile] furnaceface 2016-01-01 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
//But I'm still boring?//

Jono needed to check.
nuclear_snide: (well then)

[personal profile] nuclear_snide 2016-01-02 06:07 am (UTC)(link)
"As far as your party and sex life, yes," Bob said firmly. "Dreadfully dull."
furnaceface: (Fire - Headtilty)

[personal profile] furnaceface 2016-01-02 02:03 pm (UTC)(link)
//Well, if you can come up with a better reason for me to change that than that you find me boring, I'd love to hear it,// Jono decided. //Anyway, you've seen Hannibal's parties. People chat over dinner. There's hardly any room for lechery at all.//

And it was still a step up from Jono's idea of a party, which mostly just involved sitting around on an old sofa, watching bad movies and throwing popcorn at the screen.
nuclear_snide: (must you?)

[personal profile] nuclear_snide 2016-01-02 07:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Bob gave a huge sigh. "Yes, I know."

Honestly, how could even a cannibal be so damn boring?

...scratch that thought. It was probably best Hannibal was boring lately.
furnaceface: (Awright)

[personal profile] furnaceface 2016-01-02 08:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh lord, Bob. No, never wish for Hannibal to be more interesting. That could only end in tears, artfully arranged bodies, and a meal that made creative use of the phrase, 'the vegetarian option.'

//Maybe you'll luck out this year and somebody more interesting than the two of us will start throwing wild orgies. Just for you.//
nuclear_snide: (WTF)

[personal profile] nuclear_snide 2016-01-02 09:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Bob beamed. "I can always hope."
